Overview of Notifications

Overview of Notifications

An important part of the Wellness Program is communication.  The Notifications section allows the administrator to send notifications to the users about various challenges, activities, program information, events, and more. These notifications can be sent as push notifications through the mobile app, as emails, or as announcements that will display on the user’s dashboard.

Notifications and Announcements are the primary ways the administrator will communicate with the users, and they can be both done from the NOTIFICATIONS section of the admin portal. Announcements appear on the dashboard of all registered users, whereas Notifications are sent as push notifications in the mobile app and/or as emails. Distribution lists can also be created from the NOTIFICATIONS section, which allows communication to be sent to a select group of users based on meeting certain criteria.

  • NOTIFICATIONS – This page is displayed by year and has separate tabs for email notifications and push notifications (mobile app).  The admin can create a new email or push notification, view the details of scheduled, sent, and cancelled notifications, reschedule notifications, and view the status of sent notifications. Also, on the right-hand side of the page is the NOTIFICATION STATS box, which lists the total number of notifications scheduled, sent, and cancelled.
  • EMAIL TEMPLATES – From this page, the admin can create email templates, either by using the existing templates as a starting point or by creating a custom template.  Once an email template has been created, it can be edited, viewed, and deleted.
  • DISTRIBUTION LISTS – This page displays the various distribution lists that can be used to send notifications to only those individuals who meet specific criteria, such as health risk conditions, gender, and age ranges.  The admin can create a distribution list by editing the existing templates or by creating a custom distribution list.  Once a distribution list has been created, it can be viewed, edited, made active/inactive, and deleted.  In addition, users can be added to a list by uploading an Excel document, and a list of users for each distribution list can be exported.
  • ANNOUNCEMENTS – The admin can create an announcement that will display as a pop-up on the user’s dashboard.  Announcements can be scheduled to display between date ranges such that they will disappear after the scheduled end date.  Once an announcement has been created, it can be viewed, edited, or deleted. Only registered users will be able to view the announcements as a pop-up on the dashboard of their account.
